In this tutorial, i will show you How to Connect Your Android Phone to PC or Laptop to use 3G or GPRS Internet on your mobile phone (smart phone with android or any OS).

First of all Let me share my experience with you. I have a DELL STREAK 5 phone. I tried many things to make it work initially.

1. Used Paid Versions of Android Bluetooth Tether - PDANet
   
2. Used Free Versions of USB Tethers.
3. Used Nokia Phone and Connected via their PC suite.

But One limitation of all the above was SPEED factor though my phone had HSDPA 3G support upto 10 mbps. The speed using bluetooth tether used to be the lowest like a dialup or GPRS connection. The one with USB tether software used to be OKay.. But everytime i had to connect the cable.

Actually, I was a FOOL!!, not to recognize an advanced OPTION in my Dell Streak phone - WI-FI HOTSPOT (Wifi- tether built-in). Just Enable This and GOOOO!!!

You Cell Phone is now a WIFI Modem and this is automatically detected by your WIFI of Your Laptop and connects a the highest speed available.

Before You Purchase a Cellphone or Smartphone, make sure you have Wi-fi Hotspot feature in it.
